Independence day parade

It all started with the Military Police...

Probably the cutest flag bearers...

Who first lived here...
... and how the immigrants arrived in the 70s.

Representing the cattle owners of the State of Rondônia...

Remembering the Madeira-Mamoré railroad.

A visiting band from Ji-Paraná.

These buses were still used in the 80s when the main higway across the state was just a dirt road full of holes big enough for half of the bus to fall in and get stuck for days...

Representing aedes aegypti the malaria mosquito.

"Yesterday we were immigrants, today we are Rondonians at heart."
